The purpose of this module is to obtain information on the health of the mother and newborn
child. The module asks about health and care received by the mother during pregnancy
and during labour and delivery. We also ask about the weight of the child and breastfeeding
at the time of birth.

Vitamin A given to nursing mothers is transferred to her infant and can improve the health
status of both mother and child. The recommended dose for post-partum women is 200,000
IU.
